These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Renters Black Box application and related services (the "Service") provided by Renters Black Box Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction to enter a binding contract. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
2. The Service
Renters Black Box helps tenants and landlords document property condition, log maintenance issues, and generate move-out PDF reports. The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service. You will not:
- use the Service for unlawful purposes, fraud, or spam;
- infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
- upload malware, attempt to bypass security, scrape, or probe the Service;
- resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the Service;
- upload photos or content you don't have rights to share.
4. Intellectual Property
We retain all right, title, and interest in the Service, including software, documentation, and branding. You retain ownership of content you upload, and grant us a limited license to host and process it solely to provide the Service.
5. Payments & No Refund Policy
All purchases on Renters Black Box are final. We do not offer refunds on report downloads ($4.99) or Deposit Recovery Kit purchases ($19.99). All sales are final.

6. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated/serious policy violations. On termination, your access ends and your data may be deleted after a reasonable export window.
7. Disclaimers
Renters Black Box provides documentation and organizational tools only. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created by use of this platform. Laws governing landlord-tenant relationships vary by state, county, and municipality. Always consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction before taking legal action or serving formal notices. We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where prohibited by law.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Renters Black Box Inc. against claims arising from your content, unlawful use of the Service, or breach of these Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Renters Black Box LLC is registered. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that venue.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
